WIDEBAND SEMICONDUCTOR ANNOUNCES LAUNCH OF WSC-6100 MONITORING SYSTEM
Mountain View, CA, Nov. 8, 2006

Wideband Semiconductor, Inc., an industry leader in high performance wireless communications solutions today announced the launch of its WSC-6100 Satellite, Microwave and DVB Monitoring System.  This advanced monitoring system features leading edge capabilities which include symbol rates from 200KBaud to 46MBaud, quadrature modulation 16-QAM to 256-QAM, 8-PSK, 16-PSK, BPSK, and QPSK yielding data to 360Mbs.  Flexibility and ease of use in link analysis performance is a hallmark of the system.  New modulation types can be incorporated via firmware updates, and additional FEC and baseband processing through the use of add-on FPGAs.

As wireless communications systems continue their explosive proliferation, the requirement for advanced testing and monitoring capabilities continues unabated.  The WSC-6100 provides satellite and microware communications manufactures, service providers and government regulatory agencies with effective real-time monitoring and analysis by recovery of PSK, BPSK, QPSK and QAM symbols from digitally modulated carriers.  The system measures received signal strength, Bit Error Ratio, Signal-to-Noise Ratio, carrier frequency offsets, I/Q Quadrature and gain distortion levels, I/Q DC offsets, symbol timing offsets and data rate offsets.

The WSC-6100 system comes bundled with a Windows-XP host-based Graphical User Interface which is used to configure the system, download operating parameters to flash memory and monitors and displays test results.  Also supported is a host-independent mode in which operating parameters can be stored in flash memory and test results monitored on auxiliary test equipment.
